Leading Australian steel profile cutting company, ShapeCUT, have been proud platinum sponsors of Declan Fraser since 2015. Declan, who was once an Australian go kart champion racer, is now entering the big leagues of speed racing, competing in this year’s Toyota 86 Racing Series.
Declan Fraser has already seen major success in his short 17 years. With the Gold Coast 600 fast approaching it was this time last year that Declan competed in the Australian Karting’s own version “The Race of Stars” held on the Gold Coast attracting drivers from around the world. After blowing an engine during the event Declan recovered to take the win and a Gold Coast Surfboard. In 2015, he attended the Las Vegas Supernational XIX, which is an invitation-only event reserved for the 77 of the world’s best go-kart racers in their class. The event saw Declan line up in 14th place after five days of competitive racing.
Declan is now entering the next stage of his career and will now see him racing in the support class of the V8supercars in the Toyota 86 Racing Series. The series is designed to give young drivers the opportunity to be mentored by professional drivers and compete in a field of more than 35 drivers. It’s an amazing opportunity for Declan Fraser and will create a great deal of exposure for the young driver, with over 2.6 million people viewing the series across free-to-air and pay-per-view TV in the 2017 series.
The team at ShapeCUT are rallying behind Declan throughout the series, with the team saying “we are proud to be a part of the support behind you on your endeavour to do great things with your racing career. Wherever that may take you, we’ll be along for the ride.” Jack Odabashian expressed a similar sentiment saying, “we are really proud to be associated with Declan Fraser Racing as the platinum sponsor”.
Declan has also expressed his gratitude to his sponsor ShapeCUT on his Facebook profile: Declan Fraser Racing, saying “I would like to give a special mention to a sponsor who has supported me throughout my Karting career and into the Toyota 86 Racing Series, ShapeCUT.” Further adding “I am extremely grateful for their continuous support and the lengths they go to in assisting me in furthering my racing career. Thank you very much ShapeCUT. I am looking forward to our continued partnership over the coming rounds.
You can catch Declan in the next round of races at the Bathurst 1000 from 5-8 October 2017.
