Workshop Expansion Update: APR 2022

You may have heard that ShapeCUT are expanding our Brisbane workshop space. You can catch all of the updates on our dedicated Workshop Expansion page.

It’s been a big couple of months in Brisbane, with the historic floods having a devastating impact on our surrounding community.

We are incredibly lucky that our ShapeCUT site remained above water, despite flooding in the area.  While our expanded workshop delivery date was pushed out once more, this is minor compared to the broader impact and our hearts go out to all affected in the community.

We paused our workshop updates during the deluge. Now we have stepped back and assessed where we are at, we can share the latest build plans moving forward.

Brisbane Workshop Update April 2022

The workshop is now largely built, with the team completing finishing touches.

There is still some way to go on the adjoining office facility, but we see this being finished up in the next 1-2 months.

The big news is that we receive our certificate of occupancy this week and should gain access by end of April! This means we will be able to start the process of moving in, and we plan to do so from May 1.

We’ll be letting some of the workshop space to a local manufacturing business. We can’t wait to share more about who will be joining us on the new site. Hint: One of our tenants is a local manufacturer of some very COVID-safe products – more on this company, coming SOON!

We’re also in the middle of planning a workshop opening party for our team, customers and community network. We’re aiming for August / September 2022, so stay tuned for further details.
